I got my driver's license the same month that "Mainstreet" was released as a single. I'd just landed my first job, and it was on the radio every night when I was coming home from the spaghetti joint. Great song, forever burned into my memory. Made me feel like a world-weary adult at the age of 16!
Thanks for this. I've loved Seger's music with the Silver Bullet Band for about 50 years now, but had no idea of what came before or after.
I am in my 60s and back in college, my roommate and I loved Bob Seger.
Now every time it’s my birthday and we talk on the phone, I say “Well, I guess I missed my chance to be in the Silver Bullet Band.”
