The 2025 Christmas Mixtape
Just in time to jingle your bells and deck your halls.
Here’s wishing you and yours the happiest of all holiday seasons, however you choose to celebrate. I’ll be spending it with my lovely and loving wife, our two kids, two cats, and a glass or two of eggnog. And you better believe I’ll be tuning into Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas for a mess of mama’s barbecue.
I also make it a point to never miss my favorite version of Charles Dickens’ classic, Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol.
This year marks the 60th anniversary showing of A Charlie Brown Christmas, and probably about the 50th time I tear up at the last couple of minutes.
And who can live without the various Rankin/Bass claymation classics? Personally, I’ve always been a bigger fan of Santa Claus is Coming to Town than Rudolph—Burgermeister Meisterburger is a character for the ages—but you really can’t go wrong with either.
As for this year’s Christmas Mixtape, it has now been expanded and (somewhat) resequenced for 2025, with the addition of 20 more tracks. It represents most of my favorites, but it’s by no means comprehensive. You can listen in the sequence provided (as I always prefer), or feel free to shuffle. Either way, if you have any favorite holiday tunes—whether well-known or obscure—please let me know in the comments.
Happy Holidays from The Mixtape!

What a great playlist - a lot of my favourites on here and especially glad to see 'The Mistletoe and Me' by Isaac Hayes - gorgeous song.
I saw Emmet Otter and that was all I needed to know. Lovely playlist!
